Maynard James Keenan is best known as the lead singer of the multi-platinum rock bands Tool and A Perfect Circle. Most recently Keenan has been recording and touring with his new music project Puscifer.

If you know his music, you know his passion. Maynard is not known for doing things half-ass, and his trek into wine making is no exception.

Maynard has a history of being hard to access,and has always been quite elusive to the press,the walls that have been built around him are invisible in this entertaining, educational, and quite funny film.

Moving to Arizona in 1995, Keenan began his quest to make wine. Located between Prescott and Flagstaff is the historic copper mining town of Jerome. Once known as the wickedest town in the west. Now possibly known as Arizona wine country and the town Maynard put back on the map.

Blood Into Wine will educate you on the process of wine making, and the amount of hard work that goes into it. Maynard with Co- Owner, and Mentor Eric Glomski take you through much of the process, and also break down the "wine snob" connotations usually associated with wine.

The film is very entertaining and quite funny. Maynard may be as multi-layered as his wine, I had no idea how much of a sense of humour he had.

This film is very well done, and I enjoyed it very much, so much that I am thinking of a road trip to visit Jerome, and a quest to have a glass of wine with Maynard and Eric. (I already mapped it out Trip distance: 278 miles Time: 4 hrs 45 mins)

One of the Highlights of the Film that I enjoyed was hearing the Story about one of Maynard's wines named after his mother Judith, and seeing all of his hard work come to fruition.

You do not need to be a fan of Tool to enjoy and even get something out of this film. This film will appeal to many.

The moral of the Story

Its not about the destination, but the journey.
