Review By ~Aniruddh (Andrew) Bansal

This was a gig featuring six of the most promising local thrash metal acts. The young Hispanic American band Bonded By Blood hit the stage at 8.45. They brought a lot of energy to the stage. The guitarists and bassist ran around the stage quite a lot, head banging almost for the whole time. Jose Barrales on the vocals certainly managed to get the crowd pumped, and there was plenty of moshing even among the small number of people present for this show. As I was on the stage to take pictures for this show, for the first time I got to observe the drummer from really close. He was doing a great job and was able to give the music an aggressive edge. They finished their set in 30 minutes.

These kinds of shows don't really sell out by the 100s and 1000s, but they definitely have their own audience, me being one of them. Supporting the local metal scene is really important for the long run and we would not have any good metal bands 10 or 15 years from now if we stopped encouraging bands like Bonded By Blood to keep playing shows and writing a lot of albums while they are young. I'm glad that they have a record label, something which other similar bands don't really have.

I would encourage every thrash metal fan in the LA area to go check these guys out next time they play a show.

They kick ass and I wish them all the best for the future!

Set list:

Self Immolation
Mind Pollution
Psychotic Pulse
Civil Servant
Vengeance
Immortal Life
Necropsy
