DECREPIT BIRTH - POLARITY

I've been an avid metal listener for about 20 years now. I've had the opportunity to see several bands play live and heard countless tapes, Cds and even albums, for that matter. At about the age of 15, I found a new realm of music that perfectly complimented my new found rebellious spirit and extremism…Death Metal! In 1995, at the age of 17, I bore witness to the release of some of Death Metal's best albums ever; Death's Symbolic, Deicide's Once upon the Cross, and Morbid Angel's Domination. Since then, I have rarely stumbled upon CD's that have made such an impact upon me in that genre. Until now! DECREPIT BIRTH's new CD Polarity follows in the same likeness of the genre's predecessors. Polarity is Absolute Death Metal at it's finest.
The intro to the CD, Ignite the Tesla Coil, starts of as a melodic, delay driven classical piece. As beautiful as Baroque fugue. Then the mayhem begins!! Blasting percussion, entrancing arpeggiotic movements, pounding bass lines and the vocals, well Bill Robinson just might be a demon incarnate. Sounding as though he is devouring raw meet while delivering his lines, he still manages to vocalize clear enough to understand every word.
For me, the highlight on this album is the guitar work! Especially the title track, Polarity! Holy shit man. The guitarist are going off. These guys definitely didn't write this song in an hour. But, I have to say, every song is great and will leave you asking yourself, "what will they do next?!". And after the mayhem, they leave you with DARKNESS EMBRACE, a the closing track. It's a symphonic arrangement that perfectly closes this masterpiece! I guess they figured we needed a break after there aural assault!
I'm not sure how much time was spent on the writing, but these guys have really helped me establish new faith in the realm of Death Metal! I have all of their releases, and to me, this is what I've been waiting for from these guys! If you are a fan of extreme metal or just great guitar work, go out and buy POLARITY!
