Eyes Set To Kill - The World Outside

THE WORLD OUTSIDE is the sophomore CD for this Tempe, Arizona band. Started by sisters Alexia (VOX/guitar) and Anissa (bass) Rodriguez. This band is also includes Brandon Anderson (keyboards/vocals), guitarist Greg Kerwin and drummer Caleb Clifton.

ESTK, The World Outside has post-hardcore, rock with elements of metalcore. The songs have a edge with a melodic base. Eyes Set To Kill alternates female melodic singing with male screaming vocals. With the melodic singing getting more exposure the mix of male/female screams is a nice change from the screamo or radio band sounds I was waiting to hear.

The band is hard to put in a genre. It has a definite hardcore influence but also a soulful side with the melodic female vocals. I am waiting to see what direction Eyes Set To Kill will take. It would be easy to fall in the mainstream with Rodriguez’'s singing because it's what radio wants...but I would like to more hardcore like “Wake Me Up”.
