Flying V, Explorer, Firebird An Odd-shaped History of Gibson's Weird Electric Guitars

Think Outside the box... This book tells the story of Gibson turning conventional design upside down, almost literally, by using straight lines and angular body shapes.

In the early years guitars were meant to look like... well, guitars!

Enter Gibson and their radical designs, that failed at first.

The book goes in to detail on the influence of the designs on guitar-makers such as Jackson, Ibanez, Dean, BC Rich, and Hamer all of whom embraced Gibson's original "think outside the box" design ethic. What makes the these guitars cool is the players who discovered these odd-shaped instruments, including Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society), Edge (U2), and Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick). Interviews are included in the book with these players and the makers to illuminate the story.

160 pages, with some bad ass photos included.

A must have!
