HEMOPTYSIS

Misanthropic Slaughter
Review By: Full Metal Rock Editor ~ Downshifter

HEMOPTYSIS

As Editor I get lots of material on my desk, and stacks of CD's to review, and I simply assign them to my staff randomly to get unbiased points of view.

From CD's the major labels send watermarked (hard copies for Full Metal Rock to review) to the obscure bands from parts unknown.

When I got word of the new full length Hemoptysis release, I did what I always do, I passed it on and assigned it to one of my staff.

One night I took it upon myself to give the CD a spin and check it out.

I was so blown away that I decided to take on the review task myself as an editorial review.

Misanthropic Slaughter contains 11 tracks that sound like they were written, produced, mixed, recorded, and executed by a group of elite musicians who know metal and how it should be layed down.

Having heard their debut release, and having seen them live before, you can say I had some interest in them, and wanted to hear their latest.

I still cant believe these guys are unsigned and shopping for a label, well all I can say is - If I had a label, I would sign these guys from Arizona and put them where they should be.

On stage in front of a sea of black.

Hemoptysis sound tighter, more well rounded, and better most of the other cookie cutter crap the labels are sending me.

Guitar work is precise, clean and almost surgical.

Drumming is simply bad ass, bass is turned up and "in the pocket", vocals are perfect and unique in this current wasteland of cookie monster metal.

I will be passing this release on to my friends, and I suggest you give them a listen.

If Misanthropic Slaughter is the future of American Metal, things are looking good.
