Review By ~ Aniruddh (Andrew) Bansal

The show started at 8 o clock with the Chelsea Girls, an all-female band who played rock covers. It was a really enjoyable set with some classic covers like Dirty Deeds, Holy Diver, Master Of Puppets and Detroit Rock City. The girls were full of energy on stage and got the crowd rocking to each and every song of theirs. It surely was a good warm-up for Motorhead! They played for about 45 minutes.

Here's their complete set list in order:

1. Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
2. You've Got Another Thing Coming
3. Barracuda
4. Think About You
5. Mother
6. Detroit Rock City
7. Holy Diver
8. Metal Health
9. Master Of Puppets
10. Something Else
11. Live Wire

Motorhead kicked off their set after a pretty long wait at 9.30 with the explosive song Iron Fist. The crowd got pumped, and why wouldn't they! It was Iron Fist after all. Then they played Stay Clean and Be My Baby. After that it was time for my favorite song of the set Rock Out! And rock out we did!!

After this they did a couple of really old songs Metropolis and Over The Top. As he does in every show, Phil said that they are still searching for the loudest crowd in the world and asked the crowd to shout as loud as they could on the count of three. A few more songs into the set he played his guitar solo, which was quite enjoyable.

He led them into another song off of the latest album Motorizer, the song Thousand Names Of God. I have to say, it was my first time seeing Motorhead as a headliner and I enjoyed the newer songs as much as the old classics. The title song from the highly underrated album Another Perfect Day followed. I was loving every song being played, including the next one In The Name Of Tragedy, a classic example of a flat-out rocker.

Lemmy gave out a little rant against the politicians as he started the next song Just 'Cos You've Got The Power. It was a really fun sing-along. Then came the part I was waiting for quite eagerly, the Mikkey Dee drum solo!! He surely is one of the most energetic drummers to grace the rock-n-roll stage and according to me he is the primary reason why Motorhead have sounded so heavy despite being just a three-piece band.

As Lemmy announced, the next song was a pure rock-n-roll song Going To Brazil. They did a couple more songs Killed By Death and Bomber. It was nice to see the song Bomber in the set. It is one of the best Motorhead songs, especially when its played live. They closed out the main set with this song and of course came back out for the encore among loud cheers. An acoustic tune Whorehouse Blues was done with Mikkey and Phil on acoustic guitars. It was a great variation in an otherwise fast, furious, loud and heavy set of songs. Finally, it was time for the best one-two punch in rock-n-roll, Ace of Spades and the ever enjoyable Overkill. With that the band thanked the crowd and said good night.

Motorhead were really, really loud tonight. I could feel my eardrums thumping even after stuffing them with earplugs. I can only imagine the experience of those without any earplugs on them. The crowd was awesome as well, being as loud a crowd as any I've seen at the House Of Blues. The mosh-pits and crowd surfing was increasing with every fast song. If you want a night of good ol' rock-n-roll, I would highly recommend checking out a show with Motorhead as headliners! Rock Out!!
