Scorpions
Sting In The Tail
Universal
Review by: ~ Downshifter

When Full Metal Rock Interviewed Rudolf Schenker back In January, Rudolph Said "It is like an anthem of the whole of the best songs of the 80s. After working so much on the album you know, we didn't realize. But you do when you have the whole picture in front of you I said to the guys, hey I can see how excited you are with this amazing album and I think that this could be a fantastic thing for you guys, if you know what I'm talking about, it could be a good last album and a last tour". Well with Sting Of The Tail The Scorpions hold true to their word and deliver an amazing album. There are some epic songs on this disk. No, it is not a new concept album that strays into experimentation, nor is it a re-hash of covers or reworked classic Scorpions songs. What it is, is an awesome collection of brand new tunes capturing the tone, and feel of what is The Scorpions. There are some tracks that will go straight to radio, and are perfect Scorpions rock songs, full of high energy and great riffs, and there are some epic power ballads that should be huge hits as well.
A must have album for any Scorpions fan, or any fan of rock.
If this really is the last album, these legends will go out on top. However, finishing the disk with the powerful track The Best Is Yet To Come, does this leave the door open?
