STRYPER

The Covering
Big3 Records
Review ~ Downshifter

Stryper does a great job in their newest release The Covering. Playing tribute to the music that inspired them.

I have followed this band since the early days, and even have attended several of their live shows, and always knew they had this in them. The Covering is the Stryper album that many have always wished they would make, and they finally did.
My Favorite tracks in Strypers history are: "The Way", "Calling on you", and "Honestly" Youtube that!

The Covering simply ROCKS!

Stryper does a great job on staying true to the originals but adding their great guitar tone, and amazing vocals of Michael Sweet. Job well done, and I am sure the original artists would agree. My favorite track on this disk would have to be their take on the Van Halen track On Fire. A great release and must have for any fans of 80's metal, or Stryper.

Also included is the final track on the disk, new original Stryper track titled "GOD"

Love the guitar tone of Oz Fox, have met these guys many times, and one of the Sweet brothers can usually be found at Namm each year and are easily approachable, straight up nice dudes.

The Covering Track List:

1. Set Me Free (SWEET)
2. Blackout (SCORPIONS)
3. Heaven And Hell (BLACK SABBATH)
4. Lights Out (UFO)
5. Carry On Wayward Son (KANSAS)
6. Highway Star (DEEP PURPLE)
7. Shout It Out Loud (KISS)
8. Over The Mountain (OZZY OSBOURNE)

10. Breaking The Law (JUDAS PRIEST)
